Dear I-House Community,
Now is the time of year at I-House when the joyful energy of graduation and new beginnings is mixed with bittersweet feelings of departure and change. This year, we are also aware of the added challenges many I-House residents are facing due to recent policy decisions by the shifting landscape of international education. Please know that I-House remains committed to fostering a supportive, inclusive community for all our residents.
Staying connected after I-House can be challenging, and so we’re working to strengthen our alumni network through new IH alumni groups, regional gatherings, and more. If you'd like to receive invitations to I-House alumni events in your region, please update your mailing address. We’d love to stay in touch wherever you are in the world. If you'll be in London tomorrow, May 9th, come for an alumni gathering at the International Student House! And if you can make it to Berkeley this summer, please join us at I-House for the annual Alumni Reunion Brunch on August 10th.
May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and we’re proud to celebrate I-House alumna Dr. Marian Diamond, a pioneering neuroscientist and UC Berkeley professor whose work on brain development still shapes how we understand learning, parenting, and mental health.
Finally, we are looking ahead to the fall and to the next season of our Host Family Program, which continues to foster meaningful connections between I-House international residents and local Bay Area hosts.
Thank you for being a part of our vibrant community, where we not only celebrate diversity—we depend on it.
